What a week

Ross had a couple of good days last week. That's a praise :) He is going for another MRI next Tues. I hope nothing has changed, but at the same time, it'd explain some things. Just be praying that it shows what it should, good or bad.

I have another History test due tonight. Uggg. I'll let ya know :)

I dropped my kitty of to get spaded today. I'm hoping it will help to calm him down. He's been getting kinda mean. Well, kinda is an understatement, he can get down right mean at the drop of a hat.

I went and got my ear cartilage pierced today. I've been wanting to and I needed something to lift my spirits. I'm gonna see how long it takes my hubby to notice hehe.

I performed for the church I've been going to on Sun. I was happy about how well it went over. I didn't know how they would respond, as they don't have anything like it there. After Easter, the music director wants me to start a group. I'm so excited. God has blessed me with this church.
Soccer will be starting in 2 weeks and then working with a new group.....it's gonna be wonderful.

Out of the mouths of babes

3-year-old Reese:
"Our Father, Who does art in heaven,
Harold is His name.Amen."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A little boy was overheard praying:
"Lord, if you can't make me a better boy, don't worry about it.
I'm having a real good time like I am."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After the christening of his baby brother in church,
Jason sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car.
His father asked him three times what was wrong.
Finally, the boy replied,"That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home,
and I wanted to stay with you guys."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One particular four-year-old prayed,
"And forgive us our trash baskets
as we forgive those who put trash in our baskets."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Sunday school teacher asked her children as they were on the way to church service,
"And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?"
One bright little girl replied,"Because people are sleeping."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin 5, and Ryan 3.
The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake.
Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson.
"If Jesus were sitting here,
He would say,'Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait.'
Kevin turned to his younger brother and said,
"Ryan, you be Jesus!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A father was at the beach with his children when the four-year-old son ran up to him,
grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore
where a seagull lay dead in the sand.
"Daddy, what happened to him?" the son asked.
"He died and went to Heaven," the Dad replied.
The boy thought a moment and then said,
"Did God throw him back down?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A wife invited some people to dinner.
At the table, she turned to their six-year-old daughter and said,"Would you like to say the blessing?"
"I wouldn't know what to say," the girl replied.
"Just say what you hear Mommy say," the wife answered.
The daughter bowed her head and said,
"Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?"
Update
Well, the MRI done showed nothing. But according to our understanding, they are gonna look over it some more. I don't know what they are looking for. The CAT Scan had shown a lesion somewhere, but Ashley's mom was told that they sometimes pick up things that don't really mean anything. So that's what we know so far. Anything else and I'll let ya know :) Thanks for prayers.
My birthday!!
First, it's my birthday. YEAH. I am now 27 years young :)
Ok~ I need major prayer for my daughter, Ashley. Last night we got a phone call from her mom saying that she was taking Ashley to the ER. Ashley had a fever of 103 and wasn't very lucid. This morning, her mom calls to update us. Ashley had come home from school yesterday due to a migraine. Then last night, as they were getting ready to go to the ER, Ashley passed out. When they got to the ER, her fever had gone away. The doctors were a bit baffled (but as I told L) they must of thought of something because they did a CAT Scan. Something turned up. They are at this moment going to see the family physician so they can get an MRI done. L has gone to be with her. Please be in prayer for her and all of us.
THANK YOU
Hiya :)
Took Ross to the neurologist on Tues. She wanted to see him about changing his medicine. We have to have another MRI done on him, just have to see if the insurance people will let us. On his last MRI, it showed scar tissue in his frontal lobe and we want to know if something is going on with it and causing Ross to change his behavior.
Took my 4th test for American History and made a 95. I missed the very last question hehe.
I'm performing with my group Reflections of Grace this Sun. Then next Sun., I will be performing at the other church I've been attending. I'm so excited about doing it.
For Valentines Day, I was very surprised. I have not received anything in 5 years. I haven't really cared, but I always wanted him to at least acknowledge me, even with just something written on a piece of paper, but it didn't happen (and honestly I was fine with it). Well, I sat his gift next to the alarm clock for him to find before work. That morning, I had to get up to take Ross to school, so he reset the alarm. When it went off, I looked at the alarm clock and there was a gift. It was a cat from Hallmark. He is the cutest thing. There was also a card! It was so pretty and I cried the whole time I read it. I was a happy camper.
Surprise, Surprise
My b-day is this Sat. and my best friend's hubby (Mike) has a birthday on the 24th. A lot of times we celebrate them together. So, Sat. my bestest (Chrissy) decided she wanted to throw Mike a surprise b-day party. It was the only day to do it because he would suspect something on the 24th. He thought they were throwing a surprise party for me and that's why we were coming. Ha~wait til he saw.
So we were to be there around 2:30. Mike wasn't supposed to be home til then, so it'll work out great. Well, I call Chrissy around noon and I hear Mike in the background. Uh oh. What's he doing home? Chrissy said that he came home early, but she was going to send him on errands.
So the family packed up and we left. First we had to go and get rid of our old computer and then go to their house.
So we get to there house. Mike's not home yet. Good. I go to heat up the oven so I could bake some cookies.
I look up from the stove~ there's Mike! SURPRISE Mike and Chrissy say. I've been punked!! It actually was a surprise party for me. Well, Chrissy was surprising Mike, but he came in the wrong door and spoiled her surprise.
I couldn't believe it and Chrissy was soooo happy. A lot of times her plans don't work out (her words, not mine) so she was happy this one worked. Mike about ruined it by talking where I could hear him on the phone, so she had to think fast for an excuse.
Anyways, we played a game of Pin the Hat on the Fire Dog. It was so funny. Then we had pizza and cake and ice cream. Then we played some Texas Hold 'Em. I'll post some pics later.
I had a blast. It was so wonderful.
First time (and last hopefully)
This is a bit long, but I want ya to get the impact :)
Ross got into trouble the other day. He had a break down. Then, later he comes and sits beside me on the couch and is playing with a gift card.
R:Look what grandma got me.
G:(I look at it. It looks new)She GAVE it too ya?
R:Yeah.
G:Are ya sure she meant to?
R:Yeah. She got it just for me.
G:I'm going to call her later
A few minutes pass
G:You SURE grandma meant to give this to ya?
R:Yeah.
G:I'm gonna call her to be sure
Ross goes to bed. Fifteen minutes later Ross comes into my bedroom and tosses the gift card to me
R:Here. I got it from the store today.
G:Excuse me?
R:I took it from the store.
G:What were ya gonna do when I called your grandma and asked he about it?
R:Tell the truth.
(The conversation went on, but I won't bore ya :) )
My heart had dropped. UGGGG We went the next day and took it back. Ross had to tell them what he did and apologize.
R:Here. I stole this and I'm sorry.
Lady:(Looks at me)It's ok. It doesn't work until it's rung up. Not a big deal.
G:Well, we teach him not to take things that aren't his.
Lady:Oh. (Looks at Ross) It's ok honey. Thank you tho for bringing it back.
UMMM??? I was soooooo upset with this lady cuz Ross heard that she said it wasn't a big deal. He's not deaf. Good grief. I realize that they aren't activated, but when a parent comes with a child and does what I had him do, DON'T blow it off as nothing. (Sorry...kinda upset)
I then took him to apologize to his grandma for including her in his lie. Thank goodness for grandmas cuz at least she didn't say "It's ok. No big deal"
So there's my story of my son stealing. Hopefully the last time. He's grounded for a while, but I don't know who's really getting punished:me or him. He's not adjusting to his medicine, so it's like he's not on it. He threw things at me today. I'm also surprised his door is still on the hinges. I'm still waiting for the day when it breaks.
Anyways, pray that something will happen with his medicine. Either a higher dose or getting it changed or something. I'm literally going nuts. It's getting bad.
Anna Nicole
I don't care for her, but:
Anna Nicole Smith, the former Playboy playmate whose bizarre life careened from marrying an octogenarian billionaire to the untimely death of her son, died Thursday after collapsing at a South Florida hotel, one of her lawyers said.
Smith, 39, collapsed and was unresponsive while staying at the Seminole Hard Rock Cafe Hotel and Casino, said the attorney, Ron Rale. She was rushed to a hospital. "She checked in Monday at 8 p.m. as a guest. She was due to check out tomorrow," said Danielle Giordaano, a spokeswoman for the hotel.
AI news
Akron Watson, an "American Idol" contestant from Dallas and one of the feel-good stories of the new season, has been disinvited from the Hollywood round of the show, possibly after producers discovered a pot bust on his record.
Watson, whose San Antonio audition aired on last night's "Idol," was arrested in April 2003 for misdemeanor possession of marijuana, according to court records obtained and posted by PegasusNews.com, by way of Reality TV Magazine. He was headed to Hollywood after impressing the judges with his singing, and his story. But Watson tells Pegasus News that two days before he was scheduled to leave for Hollywood, he received a call saying that he would not be competing anymore "for unknown reasons." "Idol" producers did not comment on their withdrawn invitation.
Meanwhile, another contestant from San Antonio, facemaker Ashlyn Carr, was reportedly arrested in August for pouring sugar into the gas tank of her ex-boyfriend's car while a student at Sam Houston State University, according to a report in The Houstonian Online.
When confronted by police, says the Houstonian, Carr confessed to the crime.A spokesman for FOX had no comment.
Made a 90 on my test. Whoohoo :)
What's new
Let's see...
L has shingles. He developed as rash on his side. Being a man, he said he didn't want to go to the doc. Well, he called me from work today and asked me to get him an appt. The doc. said it'll take a couple of weeks to get rid of it. uggg
Ross is so excited to start soccer, but practices don't start til next month. Poor baby. He's ready now! hehe
I am going to perform at the church I've been attending. I'm excited. I have also talked to them about starting a creative ministry group and everyone I have talked to would be excited for me to do it.
I have to take another History test tomorrow. UGGG I hate test.
My oldest step-daughter wants us to throw her a boy-girl party for her b-day. I just think she's still too young for one. Maybe I'm just an old fogey. What do you think? She's turning 13 in March. She is OVERLY boy crazy.
My b-day is in 11 days. I have mixed feelings about it. My mind can't seem to grasp that I'm getting older. When I first started going to the church I've been attending, I walked into Sunday School. I thought "I don't want to be in here. These people are old." Then it dawned on me "You're not a youth anymore" Big wake-up call. hehe
I got L's V-day present already. I got him a box of chocolates that is Larry the Cable Guy and also got a hat that is his fav. basketball team.
Finally got all our paperwork for our taxes. Gotta do it sometime. MAYBE L and I can have a small getaway or something. BIG maybe. L usually ends up using the money, so I'll have to hide it hehe.
Pray for my best friend. She's going to have surgery at some point and have to have her jaw broke. She's very nervous about this. Also, she had to go to the emergency room the other night and found out her wisdom tooth was very badly decayed. She's in a lot of pain right now due to all this. Please keep her in your prayers.
I guess that's it for right now.
That game on Sunday night
Here's some rules for tomorrow night's big day:
*Cannot show it on a TV bigger than 55" (so if your TV is bigger than that, you must shrink the screen resolution)
*No more than 4 TVs in a single place
*No more than 1 TV in a room
*No more than 6 loud speakers in a single place and only 4 of them in a single room or outdoor space
You may not say or print: (hope this is legal to tell ya about)
􀂾 “Super Bowl”
􀂾 “Super Sunday”
􀂾 The Super Bowl logo
􀂾 “NFL”, “AFC”, or “NFC”
􀂾 “National Football League”
􀂾 “American Football Conference”
􀂾 “National Football Conference”
􀂾 Any team name (e.g., “Patriots”) or
nickname (“Pats”)
You may say or print:
􀂾 “The Big Game in Detroit”
􀂾 “The Professional Football
Championship Game in Detroit”
(February 5, 2006)
􀂾 The names of the cities of the
competing teams in the Super
Bowl (e.g., New England vs.
Chicago), but not the team names
􀂾 You can make fun of the fact that
you cannot say the phrase “Super
Bowl” (e.g., by beeping it out)
They are even going after a church. Ths story is below and I think it's crazy.
NFL Stops Forward Progress of Church Party
Are you ready for some football? The Fall Creek Baptist Church of Indianapolis was, until attorneys from the National Football League (NFL) learned of their plans to throw a congregation-wide Super Bowl party. The Indianapolis Star reports that Pastor John Newland received a letter, overnighted from the NFL, demanding that the party be cancelled because it violates "copyright laws" to project the game on a television screen larger than 55 inches. But what's truly troubling is that NFL headquarters also sacked the church's plans to show a video highlighting the Christian testimonies of coaches Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith. Assistant Counsel Rachel Margolies writes, "[The NFL] is consistent in refusing the use of our game broadcasts in connections with events that promote a message, no matter the content." This is an interesting contradiction, since the League allows businesses such as sports bars to broadcast the game to crowds in an environment that encourages alcohol consumption. Obviously, the NFL is more comfortable promoting substance abuse and half-time nudity than it is endorsing positive role models like Dungy and Smith. Rather than provide a safe, healthy environment for families to gather and watch the Super Bowl, the NFL is suggesting that they abandon the church for the nearest bar. Attorneys at the NFL should concentrate less on intimidating churches and more on preventing another "wardrobe malfunction." Additional Resources
NFL rules keep church football gathering from being 'super' parties
Soccer mom
I am now going to be a soccer mom. :) I never thought I would be hehe. I have signed Ross up for Upward soccer. It is a Christian soccer league. They do devotions every game (and I believe every practice too). This is going to be so cool for him. He went for his evaluations today. He was very stand-offish at first, but then loosened up. They had 7 station they had to go to. Each one had a different drill for them to do. At the last station, they said he was the best one they had seen that morning. I heard that they had about 40 kids before him. He had to dribble the ball to another person, then run back as fast as he could. I was so proud of him. I think once he realized they were doing it on a point system, he was trying his hardest.
Also...... I am going to be an assistant coach. I am excited. I don't know much about soccer, but I talked with someone and he said that it won't be hard for me to learn. I might be helping with Ross' team. That'd be cool too.
Anyways, just wanted to let ya in on my wonderful news. I am sooooo excited.
Here's Mark's new wagon. He loves it. He has tried many time to bring it inside hehe
Here is a "snowflake" that Mark made in his Wed. night class at church. I forgot to show it. Isn't it cute? He was so proud of it. It's made with those packing things and pipe cleaners.
Snow
Here's our little bit of snow. Soon after these pics, it started raining, so it turned to slush. Mark had fun in it while he could tho. This was his first time. L was upset that he didn't get home in time to play with him. I felt bad for him, cuz he truly wanted to get out there with him. (Hopefully I can put a video on here sometime. I have to figure it out first hehe. )
